  want to know what's weird?

  we all know there is no mention of cats in the bible...not one....but another thing that's weird is that there is no reference to any people in the old testament taking their kids down to the beach to make sandcastles and stuff...why?

  Albums, Tapes, or Videos You Had to Throw Away?

  there are so many songs that the watchtower society says are "bad".

  they are the ones that hint on sexual immorality, violence, drugs, or that have reference to devil worship.

  or the ones that have swearing in them, which seems to be common these days.. what really gets me is how they find such petty things wrong with songs that they basically want to clean out your whole library and make you listen to kingdumb s*** all the time.

  I refused to throw albums away only because it had the word Devil in the lyrics. "How about the bible?"

  one new poster, calls herself snowbird, just revealed that she's been lurking(reading without posting) here for 7 years!.

  Not terrified, sometimes a bit reluctant. It's hard to express feelings and thoughts in a foreign language.

  So I visit JWD almost everyday, but at the momemt more reading then writing.

  Thanks all of you anyway, it's good therapy!

  Ok here is my problem.........

  i just read some of the thread about keeping our kids away from jws and their teachings.......this is my situation and any helpful advice would be appreciated.......... i have a 14 year old son.

  his father and i have not been together since 1999, when i was disfellowshipped.

  we now share custody.

  My 13 year old son lives with me. A few weeks ago when two elders came to visit me, I let him stay.

  So he heard me talking respectfull to the elders, telling them about the questions that are bothering me. So he was there when the elders couldn't answer my questions. He was there when the elders were saying: just have faith...etc...

  At least twice a week, we go walking in the fields in the evening and talk about life and about what's on his mind etc. In this way I am building up a relation with him.

  I think the combination of telling him to always think for himself ( or learn to ) and giving him the freedom to meet with friends and do all the "normal" things kids do at his age, will make him see the "truth". He's a wunderfull son and I am proud!

  I don't think he will ever be a JW.

  i'm currently listening to john mayer, ....what a voice!

  also love seal, cat stevens, crosby, stills, nash & young.. i love many of the many new male voices but can't remember them...... tell me who you love!.

  Why do dubs act as if 1975 wasn't failed prophesy or misleading?

  from the evidence i have found, it was all but etched in stone.

  so why try and defend the wts by saying "they never stated armageddon would be in 1975", as one witness tried to throw back at me.. seems that you could show them all the evidence in the world of this false organization, and it will repel right off them.

  is there some sort of "force field" kool-aid they're serving at the halls?.

  What preoccupied your mind today?

  so what was one thing that significantly preoccupied your mind today or part of today something you thought a lot about?

  for me it was handing over some work on a deadline which comes up next week.

  i can't go over even by one day so i better be on time.

  yesterday two elders visited me and I thought about it today. Also my ex-wife ( so happy with her new JW husband.......! ) keeps chasing me for money. Get a LIFE!
